WHERE ARE YOU?
I live in downtown Toronto. But I have clients all over the globe. Zoom and Skype are great! There's something about online sessions that can help both of us focus, and of course, to relax and be ourselves at home. In fact I treated people online long before covid-19 made it necessary.
HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?
I prefer an hour and a half, so we can really discuss what we want to work on before doing TAT and/or EFT together. Longer sessions can shorten the span of treatment, I find.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO GET OUT OF ATTENDING ONE OF YOUR IN-PERSON GROUP SEMINARS?
For lots of people who have never heard of energy therapies before, coming along to a group session can be a good way to find out more about the science of the mind-body connection, but even more importantly, to experience it. (Click on the About button on the home page to read how this whole thing started for me!) At the very least, I aim to leave everyone in the room feeling nice and relaxed, and knowing how to use one or two energy therapy tools for themselves. I also provide links and further information if anyone wants to pursue this for themselves.
DO YOU FOLLOW ANY PARTICULAR THERAPY MODALITY, LIKE CBT OR PSYCHOANALYSIS?
An important note: I follow the Code of Ethics of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I am committed to offering the highest standards of professionalism, and that's also why you won't find testimonials on my website.
One of the most important truths to come out of psychological research in the last decades has been that an integrated therapeutic approach is most effective. So I am really using CBT all the time, in spotting the right questions to ask, or exposing the origins of feelings you may even be unaware of. But I might do that through the lens of Narrative Therapy, and/or psychodynamics, or even by asking you to do online Myers-Briggs assessments, that sort of thing. And I will always use energy therapy to help your positive shifts 'stick'.
